Argentina U-20 coach Walter Perazzo has announced his squad that will compete in the South American championships in Peru. Argentina who will compete in Group A, long with Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela and hosts Peru will be hoping to not only to become the continent's new champions, but also to qualify for both the Fifa World Youth Cup to be held in Colombia and the London 2012 Olympics.
Having last won the tournament back in 1999, Argentina will be relying on their firepower of Rogelio Funes Mori whose move to Benfica collapsed and Boca Juniors star Sergio Araujo. Both have impressed in the current Apertura campaign and will be hoping to form the tournament's most deadly strike partnership. Funes Mori who has been described as the next Hernan Crespo and Araujo who has been likened to Sergio Aguero, will be two names at the top of every scouts list in the forthcoming weeks.
Argentina will be without River Plate trio Erik Lamela, Roberto Pereyra and Manuel Lanzini after the club refused to release their young stars, though there are spots for Huracan’s Rodrigo Battaglia and Racing’s Bruno Zuculini, both of whom enjoyed excellent Apertura campaigns for their clubs. Argentina have also included Estudiantes’ Michael Hoyos, who is also eligible to represent USA and the highly rated and much sought after

Juan Iturbe. The 17 year-old attacking midfielder, currently without a club, was born in Argentina to Paraguayan parents and has already been linked to Real Madrid.
