Brazil coach Nei Franco has confirmed his 20 man squad for the Under-20 South American Championships to be held in Peru from 16th January to 6th February 2011, which includes Neymar who recently made his debut for the senior team. There were also call-ups for Internacional’s talented midfielder Oscar, Parma midfielder Ze Eduardo and Palmeiras’ Gabriel Silva.
Brazil have been drawn in Group B alongside Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Paraguay. With qualification not only for the next Youth World Cup up for grabs, but also a slot at the London 2012 Olympics, the young Samba stars will be desperate to make an impression in Peru this year. The Olympic crown remains the only major international title which still eludes the nation that has claimed the World Cup on five occasions.
With scouts from all over Europe attending in Peru, hoping to find the next Messi or Kaka, their will be particular interest in Santos star Alan Patrick and São Paulo duo Lucas Rodirgues and Carlos Casemiro who are already subject of interest from clubs such as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United. Brazil will go into the tournament as favourites and the inclusion of Neymar will be a massive boost for Nei Franco's side. Having reached the final at the 2009 tournament held in Venezuela which produced players such as Douglas Costa,
