Helping Brazil to Fifa Under-20 World Cup glory was 20-year old São Paulo striker Henrique. Finishing the tournament with five goals to his name, including a brace in the semi-final with a 2-0 victory over Mexico, Henrique was the stand-out performer of a very impressive Brazil side coached by Ney Franco. With Neymar and Lucas missing, Brazil still boasted a team consisting of the likes of Carlos Casemiro and Philippe Coutinho.

Going into the Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Colombia as pre-tournament favourites, despite the loss of Neymar, Brazil lived up to expectations. The Seleção were crowned champions for the fifth time, and ended as the tournament’s most lethal finishers with 18 goals. Having lost in the final last time round to Ghana in 2009, Ney Frenco's young squad won the trophy for the first time since 2003.
At the back, Brazil were helped by the safe hands of Gabriel who was arguably Brazil's hero in the quarter finals against a strong Spanish side, helping to keep the score at 2-2 and then during the penalty shoot out. At the back providing stability and leadership was the presence of Sao Paulo's central defender Bruno Uvini who had a fine tournament. In Danilo Luiz they had an attacking full-back who had limitless energy and posed a constant threat. The Santos star who recent signed a big money move with FC Porto will now join up with the Portuguese and Europa League champions.
With Carlos Casemiro shining as a right-winger and tipped by many to make the breakthrough to Mano Menezes senior team and Philippe Coutinho pulling the strings in the middle as playmaker, it played perfectly into the hands of clinical finisher Henrique who finished the tournament. With five goals to his name the Sao Paulo striker won both the Golden Boot award as top goal scorer and the Golden Ball award as the best player of the tournament.
In the final it was turn of Internacional's Oscar Dos Santos who took centre stag and stole the headlines with a fine hat-trick against Portugal. Oscar who has been compared to Brazil legend Kaka is one of many stars expected to move to Europe after the success of the team.
