New Porto coach Vitor Pereira has declared that the departure of Andre Villas- Boas will not stop the club's winning ways and has quickly acted to build upon last season's success with the addition of seven new players including wingers Juan Manuel Iturbe, Kelvin de Oliveira and Djalma Campos, goalkeeper Rafael Bracalli and striker Kléber Pinheiro as well as Santos duo Danilo Luiz and Alex Sandro. Portuguese titleholders Porto take on FC Barcelona for the UEFA Super Cup on 26 August in Monaco and will begin their UEFA Champions League campaign in the group stage.
Versatile Brazil Under-20 right-back and midfielder Danilo Luiz da Silva became FC Porto's sixth summer signing, arriving from Copa Libertadores winners Santos FC for a fee in the region of €13 million. Danilo will join the UEFA Europa League winners after the forthcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, where the América FC youth product will represent Brazil having been part of the team that retained the South American title in January.
Regarded as one of South America's hottest prospects, Danilo found himself at the centre of a tug of war battle between Portuguese giants Porto and Benfica.It is not the first team that Porto have beaten their bitter rivals to

South American talent after landing Falcao and Alvaro Pereira in the summer of 2009. The Brazilian's arrival is likely to pave the way for the exit of full-back Jorge Fucile, who is reportedly interesting Serie A duo Roma and Lazio.
Just days after splashing out to secure the services of Danilo, the Dragons paid €9.6 million for left-back Alex Sandro who, like Danilo, was part of the Santos team that recently won the Copa Libertadores. Sandro who signed a five-year deal at the Estadio do Dragao has a release clause of €50 million, which is only surpassed by the buyout clauses of Itrube and Hulk. The 20 year-old will join Porto along with Danilo at the end of the Under-20 World Cup. The signing of the Brazilian starlet adds substance to rumours that Alvaro Pereira will be sold by the club, with Liverpool amongst those named linked with a move.
