Javier Pastore's starring performance for the Rosanero against Juventus on Thursday confirmed his rising stock with another dazzling display in Turin. Putting in a man-of-the match showing, the playmaker scored the first and created many opportunities for his team-mate. Pastore has definitely become one of the best attacking midfielders in the league and his creativity and ball control are a joy to witness. Current Argentina coach Carlos Bilardo hailed his performance, and described Pastore as the modern day number 10 after his eye catching performance against Juventus. He will now be hoping to become a mainstay in the Argentine midfield and has been called up for the forthcoming friendly's in October against Japan and the Ukraine, having appeared at the World Cup in South Africa.
Pastore has now become one of the most sought after players in world football and is reportedly interesting Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Manchester City. Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Manchester City are preparing a colossal bid for the starlet, perhaps a big in the region of €50 million. Palermo's fiery president
Maurizio Zamparini rejected a number of bids from Real Madrid during the summer, and recently the player's agent said he was at Palermo for the long-haul. Barcelona are also said to be interested, adding competition for big-spending City. Palermo want no less than €50m as the club owes an Argentinean agency around €12m

in equity after they signed Pastore for €6m from Huracan last year. Pastore's agent recently denied his client has had any contact with Inter, but would not rule out a move in the future. However, the Italian outfit maybe tempted to cash in on their prized asset and the Argentine is expected to move after the 2010/11 season. Before his switch to Sicily, Pastore reportedly had a number of admirers, but the player's representative has suggested that most of it was journalistic fabrication and that Palermo were the first team interested in signing him from the outset.
In his first season at Palermo since joining the the Rosanero in the summer of 2009, the playmaker has been an influential figure and his solid performances earned him a place in Argentina's 2010 World Cup squad as well as helping his side to qualification for the Europa League. Pastore made his name in 2009 Clausura championships for Huracán where he finished the season as the teams top scorer with 7 goals and 3 assists. Pastore left fans drooling with his tricks, flicks, playmaking and outstanding goals, including a formidable 25 yard strike against River Plate. The starlet formed a formidable partnership with fellow wonderkid Matias De Federico, and the duo's influence inspired Huracán, who narrowly missed out on the championship title. Pastore has earned the tag of the ‘Argentine Kaka’, although in truth his style of play has an uncanny similarity to compatriot Juan Roman Riquelme. Like the Boca Juniors leader, Pastore demands possession at every opportunity and is the orchestrator of the teams play.
